BCBSVT Rate Review Decision Issued

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont (BCBSVT) submitted an annual Association Health Plan rate filing that will take effect January 1, 2023. On September 30, 2022, the Board issued its decision and order approving modifications to the 2023 BCBSVT AHP Filing.

On May 20, 2022, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont (BCBSVT) submitted a consolidated Large Group Unit Cost Trend filing for Q4 2022 to update the unit cost trend factors to align with those filed in the 2023 Vermont ACA Market rate filings. On May 6, 2022, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont (BCBSVT) proposed an average annual increase of 12.5% over 2022 rates for individual and family plans offered on Vermont Health Connect, with proposed changes ranging from 9.9% to 16.1%. These numbers and/or percentages are subject to change throughout the rate and approval process. As of July 15, 2022, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont (BCBSVT) proposed an average annual increase of 15.4% for Small Group plans over 2022 rates offered on Vermont Health Connect. 

On May 6, 2022, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont (BCBSVT) proposed an average annual increase of 12.3% over 2022 rates for individual and family plans offered on Vermont Health Connect, with proposed changes ranging from 9.7% to 16.3%. These numbers and/or percentages are subject to change throughout the rate and approval process. As of July 15, 2022, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont (BCBSVT) proposed an average annual increase of 14.9% for Individual plans over 2022 rates offered on Vermont Health Connect.
